do you guys sign picutures or the matte or?

i was asked to sign some matting on some pictures that i did for a guy, is that normal, do you guys do that often, or on every one or only when asked or what.
and do you sign the pictures or the matte or what?

noooo.....I might change my mind someday, but for now I'll only sign the back of the print IF someone asks. I might sign the mat for gallery stuff...actually contemplating that for an upcoming show, but so far I haven't.

BTW...this came up on the PPA's forum a few months ago as well...not many signers over there either.

that was my thought, i hadnt thought about it till the guy asked if i would sign... then i still didnt know, so i thought i would ask,
i agree it seems kind of tacky, i understand paintings but it just doenst seem right for photography
