This caught my eye yesterday... I keep playing with it but I dunno, I just can't get it to where I am happy with it. Any ideas?

I like the concept and compostition. Perhaps a bit more in focus? Also the light colored decorative work on the bars in the very top left corner keeps drawing my eye away from the important parts of the image.

OK, I need to crop the wreath and try to PS it a bit? Or just reshoot when I get a chance... I will work on that later tonight. Thanks! :)

Misskitty,
If you can reshoot, use a smaller apeture to get the front handle in focus.

This one is focused better. I took it standing on my toes off balance. Why can't I get this thing clearly?

I love this door, so much potential for a variety of pics, here is an edit I did quickly. The cold metal seemed to say blue to me so I did a duotone with some unsharp mask.

Thanks Roger! I like that!!!
I went back today and took some more. I haven't gotten them off the card yet, but I will shortly. I was working in afternoon sun vs AM sun the other two times. I think these will be better. If not, I am going to take my laptop and just camp out up there until I get it right...

I really like the original for what it's worth. Love the textures that come through in it.

hey total newbie hear but to me the handels are making the pic a bit long and taking away from the lock and bolt in the original and the third posted pic may be croping the bottom half of the handles would bring the focus of the eye in more ???????

Hi Misskitty,
Hope you dont mind me having a go, I really do like this glowing edge effect and the colours are quite 'rusticish' .

I thought of that!
Cropping the handles off made it look incomplete. Your eye was drawn down to nothing. Somewhere I have pics like that and I will post them later. Going to eat in a few here :)

Neat! I like it!
The patterns in the colors remind me of gas on pavement after a rain!
