Hi guys, Firstly i appologise if any of these questions have been asked before :(.
1. What kind of copyrights/watermarks do you guys use when putting you images on the web?
2. Does anyone know how to get images put back onto the card in the camera that have been edited on my pc, using windows explorer. I cant seem to drag and drop things or use zoombrowser! Is this a canon thing or just me ;)?
3. If you guys do sell your images online, may i ask from which sites and how much am i looking to pay per year for the privaledge?
Thank you all in advance ;)
Regards,
Aaron

1. None. If someone wants to use my pictures without permission, a copyright/watermark probably won't do much to slow him down.
But images I post to the web tend to be compressed JPGs of my original RAW/TIFF images. So...
The 100kB JPG image off the web won't enlarge remarkably well if the thief plans on printing it out as an 8x10. Moreover, if ever I need to prove that I created the original, I can do so with reference to the RAW/TIFF original. The thief cannot.
I will refrain from a lengthy discussion of copyright, since I'm only qualified to discuss what US law says about it (and not everyone here is from the US), and such a discussion would be very, VERY long. I can, however, recommend Brad Templeton's website, "10 Big Myths about copyright explained," at http://www.templetons.com/brad/copymyths.html
2. I believe that if you want to upload images to the card, you need a card reader. I don't think you can upload images to the card if the card is in the camera, and not a card reader.
I may be mistaken. If so, someone feel free to correct me.
Card readers can often be found for as little as $0 (after mail in rebate). The Viking card reader I'm using ran me all of $9.99 at Staples. It works just fine, and my computer treats it as another drive, so moving stuff to and from it is easy. (For the record, the computer's running Win XP Pro. If you're using a Mac OS, or Linux, or DOS 2.1, or something like that, I have no idea how things will work for you.)
3. I don't sell my images online, although if I did I'd probably do so from my own site. As for how much you'd have to pay for the privilege, do you refer to the privilege of selling your images, or the privilege of buying mine?
If the former, you'd probably have to pay about $9/year for a domain name, and anywhere from $0 on up for hosting. For details, I'd suggest the web hosting forum at http://webhostintalk.com .
If the latter, my fees would be set based on any number of factors. If it were an image having little commercial value, and a worthy non-profit organization asked me if they could have limited, non-exclusive rights to the image to raise money for homeless baby harp seals or something, I'd probably let them use it at no charge. If it were an image having substantial commercial potential, and Coca Cola wanted to use it as the centerpiece in their upcoming advertising campaign, I'd likely hold out for serious coin.

To answer your question about selling prints online, I'd suggest you check out this site that I develop/admin:
http://www.shipleyphoto.com
We're using Gallery from http://gallery.sourceforge.net with a PayPal shopping cart. The code for the shopping cart was written by a user on the Gallery forums. If you have trouble finding it, I can email it to you.
The cost is about $15/year for the domain name and $10/month for hosting with http://www.phpwebhosting.com
PayPal takes a percentage of each sale, and handles payment processing. We receive an email of each order which we prep and send to a commercial photo printing company via FTP. Gallery and the shopping cart add on are both free.
With regard to watermarking, we do add a watermark to the photos on the site and the studio name on the finished prints. There's a watermark add on for gallery, but I use Photoshop to add the watermark while processing the images prior to uploading.

As for uploading images onto the camera, you can do that with Zoombrowser.
