i take mostly indoor shots. like just chillin at home with friends or at casual restaurants...what should i get...

Canon 24-70 f/2.8L or
Canon 28-70 f/2.8L or
Canon 17-40 f/4L + 580EX

will the 580EX help a lot with the slower speed of the 17-40?

i wouldnt want to take photos at a restaurant with some honking great big flash:P wouldnt want to eat there either... whats wrong with your 50 1.4 for that kind of thing? that should be great.

cant advise anything really... never owned one of those three.

I would get the 24-70L, its a great lens for indoor shooting and i find it wide enough to do some group shots. If your not doing work where you need high IQ i would not get the L glass because you dont really need it.

i want to stick with L cause the build quality is just awesome and i wanna invest in glass for the future. the 24or28-70 f/2.8 is probably my top choice. it seems to be the best walk around lens for my needs. please others, leave ur input. thanks

Id say 24-70 2.8 if you are indoors shooting.

The new 17-55 AF-S F/2.8 IS looks pretty darn promising.
