It was taken last summer ( August 15 )
We had a couple of jays and they all lost their feathers on their head
My son wanted me to post a picture that he took
Dan for Alexandre

Thats pretty hilarious and sad at the same time. Its a normal process of molting and I have seen similar but not to this extent. Looks like a little blue vulture:D ;) But the shot is well taken with good exposure, the focus is right on the head and a nice catchlight in the eye......very nice capture of something many people don't get to see.

Blue vulture is what i was going to say. Very nice capture. Sharp, nice bokeh, and sparkling catchlight in the eye.

Great shot. You have a photographer in the making. That could get a little expensive but I bet would be a blast every time you get to go out shooting together.

That's pretty wierd, kind of looks like a cartoon buzzard :) but your son was on the ball to get a great shot, a budding National Geographic photographer perhaps :D .

Very nice capture by the young lad. It's great when the kids jump in and enjoy the fun of photography! The shot unusual as it is, is very interesting and very well done.

My compliments to the photographer :)

I wonder if they lost all their feathers from eating salted and toasted peanits...LOL

Just kidding...

Did they ever find out why they lost thier feathers?

Very good job by the young Alexandre! The eye is in perfect focus. I've heard of this condition happening before but never got to witness one.
