Body only is $899, but for a $100 more you get a lens? Am I mistaken?

Since I have a 17-40mm "L" allready I would probably NOT get the lens If I got one as a backup for the 10D.

Still,.. on second thought,.. $100.00 for a nice small lens to have on it isn't a bad option.......

The stats on the 300D are impressive, specially for a camera in that price range. The only camera that might come close to the 300D is the Pentax *ist D, which is not released at this moment, but I think the 300D will make everybody forget that one :)

btw. I bought my 10D 4 weeks ago, and right after reading the info on the 300D I was a little pissed. Because this camera is almost identical with the 10D for halve the price. But I also remembered my first SLR (Eos 300) and how i hated the controls on the camera (it was simply to small for me), And i think this is the same with the 300D. So I now feel the 10D is still the better option for me. So I´m happy to made the right choice.

And I don´t think you should try the BOUNCE test, that is mentioned on this board with a 300D. :)

If you've ever seen an Elan 7 and a Rebel G side by side,. it think you will see the difference in construction level from the 10D to the 300D....
