went for a walk along the beach today, found this little guy hopping around on the rocks! what is it? there were lots of them...

taken with a 70-200f4 at 200mm

was underexposed a bit with all that glare off the water so selectively lightened the bird, cropped a bit and sharpened.

what do you think?!

I think it's AMAZING! Excellent job on this!
For a bird smaller than my fist,. you have to have been able to get nice and close for this shot. Well done. Sharp, good detail and color, background works..

re: crop,. you may want to try a little more off the left,. a little more off the top,. and leave more on the right..

Very well done ... I like it ... I agree that putting the bird a little more to the left and allowing it to look into a little more space

wow thanks guys! thats a compliment! haven't had much experience shooting birds... plenty of gulls to practice on by the sea but getting bored of shooting them... and skies are normally grey which doesnt help!

is this crop a little better? ive included the original so you can see how much i was able to crop...

i think its a purple sandpiper .

ps , as reewik pointed out , crop does looks better now.
