Something new happened tonight.
I take the picture, which appears in the screen as usual. But it stays there.
I can switch to viewing mode and see the picture, but when I switch back to shooting mode, it's still there in the display.
In order to take another shot, I have to turn the camera off to clear the screen.

I've tried changing batteries - made no difference.

Anyone else experience this?

What is the review setting in the rec menu set to?
You might try a reset by holding the menu button for over 5 sec.

I sat down with it and checked things out - the Gremlins had changed the review time.
I know it wasn't me, because I've never ever fooled with that setting.

Interesting that you mention that the setting changed "on its own"

I have had that problem several times - Changing settings - when you want to - is relatively easy with the S2. Guess that allows accidental changes to happen easily.

at least, it's a good excuse. <g> I'm just relieved that it isn't broken. The more I deal with the XT, the more I appreciate the S2.

Thanks for letting us know what happened -- and to snowrdr for the clue. I think I would have been completely bamboozled by this one. Also glad to hear of your new-found appreciation for the S2... but I'm sure it won't be long until the XT becomes second-nature to you.
