There is a member of a local Cdn 4-wheel drive club that has been diagnosed with terminal cancer after a long battle with Crohn's disease. Currently his friends are racing to complete his off-road buggy and raising funds to support a weeklong trip to Tellico, NC.

I'd love to be able to make the trip to photograph a portion of the trip in Tellico but I'm not able to. I'm hoping that there may be someone on this site who would be interested in volunteering a day to ride shotgun in one of the 4x4s on the trail and act as a photographer for the group, thus helping them document Dan's wish to wheel Tellico.

This site (http://www.offroaders.com/album/Tellico/index1.html) will give you an idea of the terrain and vehicles involved.

If you're interested please PM and I can put you in touch with the friends planning the trip.

Thank you for reading this post and I'm hoping someone can help us out.

Depending on the schedule, I might be able to help you out. I'm not far from there and generally available (fringe benefit of being retired).

Thanks! They are hoping for 4th week of May (week of 22nd) but this depends on when the buggy is completed and if Dan is well enough, which we hope he is.

I'll be getting more information on the weekend and will let you know.
God bless you!

That looks like a possible time for me. I am tied up Memorial Day weekend here with the Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR event in Charlotte, but I am open in the days leading up to and the days after. Let me know as soon as you have a firm date and I will see what I can do to help you out.

It's a great idea, Lindsey.

I wish that I could be up in Tellico at the right time, but it would be hard to match up with my schedule. In the odd event that the trip falls on some off time, I'd love to go. But I simply can't promise to be somewhere when I am not even close to certain that I could make it.

I'm certain that there's a few members in that area that would love to be there.

Unfortunately this trip is not going to happen. The buggy is completed however he's not well enough to make the trip. His friends are hoping to get him out for a short, more local ride in his rock buggy.

Thanks for offering up time to help with the pictures. It was very appreciated.

Sorry to hear that the trip isn't going to happen. Seemed like such a noble plan. I bet even a local ride might be a big boost at this point. I hope at least that part works out for him!
