Hi,
I have a Canon A95, the one in which the screen flips in and out. Today when I turned it on, the LCD screen was all white. Nothing is appearing on the screen, not even the menus. I have no idea what caused this. I tried to fix it by putting it in different shooting modes...but nothing seems to be working. The camera does take pictures though, even though they wont show up on the screen, I can just see them on the computer when I put in the memory card. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me with this or im in big trouble with my parents. Even though I am allowed to use it whenever I want, and I did nothing wrong to it because I take extreme care with all my electronics, I was the last one who used it, so of course, its going to get blamed on me! Thanks!

Does pushing the "Display" button make any difference?

When I press the display button, the screen just turns off, and when I press the button again, the screen comes back on, to white.

Seems like the camera needs to get opened up for repair. If I'm not mistaken, LCD displays will look white when not connected to a signal... perhaps the internal ribbon cable got disconnected from its lead?

I don't suggest that YOU open the camera up, but it definitely needs professional attention.

oooh...are you sure I cant do it? I have fixed many playstation 2 consoles before, and the problem most of the time was with the ribbon cable! All you gotta do is take apart the swivel LCD and see if the disconnected cable is there, and if not, open up the main body of the camera and fix the problem! Ill even wear rubber gloves, and remember where each screw goes.

...or maybe not.

Isn't there a menu setting to adjust brightness & contrast? Better try that first.

There is a menu for brightness, but the thing is that the menu does not come up.
