problem installing WIA driver for A70

Hi, All,

I am trying to install Canon WIA driver on Winxp. I download WIA6.0.0, but after running setup, nothing appeared in my "scanners and cameras" section of control panel.

I also tried to manually "add hardware", but A70 was not listed, and I can't find any valid *.inf files in driver directory.


I am sure this can be done, just don't know what stupid mistake I've made :-(

Hi i've installed my A70 directly to the usb cable and the wizard cames on and deteced the A70 directly, i use XP home and SP1 i did not use any WIA drivers.Now i use the wizard scanners and cameras to download the pictures to my PC.FN jacques Belgium.

Is the camera showing up in Device Manager (either as an Imaging Device or as a Other Device)?
