I was near Moab, Utah a week ago and took the time to shoot the UP's Crane Creek Branch Line. I find it even still a wonder that a train runs right through the heart of some of Utah's Canyonland/Arches National Parks. I think it makes for some of the more interesting senic action in railroading. Enough of that chat . . . lets get to the picture(s). I owe it all to Tom of course, my mentor and sponcer so it would seem . . .

When I see an area like this...I expect to see John Wayne or Audie Murphy come riding along instead of a train. Another very nice shot. Well done.

Really nice, RJ.
The framing of that shot is great. It isn't intellectually honest, but maybe you could PhotoShop some sky and clouds into it.

Thank you folks . . . that is the Colorado River in the lower left foreground . . . you should hear the horn echo in the canyon.

I'd love to get paid for riding along in a train all day if the scenery was like this!

Ya . . . right. They are, how do I say it politely? Bone heads. Would not know a good shot from the back side of a . . . we do not get along well. Which makes it all the more funny when I win shot of the day or peoples choice and such. They are in it for the money, for the hits, so even I am put up with, as long as people will look and link through, thus helping the bottom line of RPN. Did I say they suck . . . You did not warn me of them Tom, when you sent me a posting trains. Did I say their mother is on unknown nationally and never saw her father . . . forgot to get that one in. Some people are just not nice. Mostly the ones with out an eye(s) for photography.

Gee, RJ, if I didn't know better I might think you didn't like those folks:confused: Very nice shot. I have not kept up with your posts, are you still taking animal shots? I miss seeing them.

Hello Mark, lol, we don't see eye to eye on much and the behind the sceens antics leaves much to be desired. Yes I still shoot critters . . . good to see you out and about.

Wonder if the engineer brings his camera to work, or just takes the scenery for granted?
The image is good, I ike the contrast in size of Nature vs Train
