Two weeks ago during my holidays on southern Portugal my A70 showed the E18 error for the first time. Afortunately it was only a false alarm, it recovered in some minutes. But after a while the camera failed again, and this time it did not recover.
I've called Canon Technical Service and they told me that its a mechanical problem and two interesting infos: first, they need about three or four weeks to fix it and second, guarantee can be ampliated on 2 more years paying only 18 euros.
If anybody has had this problem an also has had it fixed please post how long took Canon to fix it and it there was any problem.
