Hi,
I think that they would not except ANY digital formats, this is rather oldfashioned I think.
Every digital image can be edited in any way, just try to build a trust relation with your client.

Can you give us some more details on why they're being so insistent on slides? Sometimes for contests and other things like that submitting 35mm slides is a requirement, but you can usually persuade clients to accept digital files. You really have 2 choices here:
1. Dump this client.
2. Make slides for them. If you must shoot digital so that you can edit the photos, you can use a service bureau to convert digital images to 35mm color slides - one such service bureau is www.colorslide.com, but it's not cheap. We're talking about $1.65 per slide in lot of 75. You can always increase your fees to cover this cost, but realize that if you give them slides, they can order their own prints without going through you.
Also, I don't know if you're also selling them the copyright to the photos (most photographers do not - they either sell prints or sell licenses to the clients to use those images in certain situations), but that is something else to consider.

I shoot model IDs on chrome all the time. All my clients require them. If your client wants chromes, give them chromes. Surely you have an EOS film body. Just Charge them for the film and processing as part of your fee. That's what I do. Ironically, they usually scan these chromes and send them via Email. When I've questioned them about this they say having the original unaltered chromes on file is company policy. It's a little stupid but keeping the client happy is your number one job.
good luck to you.
