There was a post, questioning quality of 3rd party batteries for 10D somewhere in this forum few weeks ago.
I used a Optrix battery and shot 210 photos at Canada's Paramount Wonderland, and still had some juice left.
It was a warm and a sunny day, and ofcourse I seldom used the flash that day.

210 shots on one charge? That's pretty anemic. You should be more in the 800-1200 range and then your mileage would vary depending on CF card, IS usage, AI-Servo/Focus usage etc...

210 shots wouldn't get me through a 512meg card!

On subject: I did buy these batteries for grins: http://www.amondotech.com/product.asp?0=270&1=281&3=54

Dunno how they'll pan out, they may suck, but for 12.50 I'm willing to give them a try. Their followup was awesome! Great service and I got them in three days. I ordered them Sunday afternoon, paid through paypal, got an email conformation they had shipped Monday morning at 9:30am and got them on Wednesday.

I'll followup later with how long they last on a charge.

I also bought a pair from www.batterysupply.com for about $30 each and they have performed very well.

Got two for $24.50 shipped from these power seller on Ebay. Work just as well as the Canon branded batteries.

One would have cost about $15 to $16 depending on your bidding patience. I always bid at the starting price -- not the Buy It Now price.

I liked these batteries so well that I bought two EN-EL1s for my Nikon 995 for $18.75 from them.
