Hi!

I'm a relatively new G3 user. I was taking some pics of the San Francisco skyline with the Golden Gate Bridge (which is red) in the foreground and the whole picture turned out to have a deep blue tint throughout. The bridge itself turned out to look sort of greyish/blueish, even. It's not just a slight blue tint, it's very very very obvious and it looks horrible. Any suggestions? I believe I took these pictures on "Auto" with spot metering at 100 ISO & no flash. Everything else was auto and default. (shutterspeed & f/Stop) It's happened before, but I've had beautiful pictures turn out, too. No idea what's causing them.

Thanks!

Sounds like the white balance was off. Use the P mode (Program AE) and set the whitebalance for Daylight or Cloudy, depending on the weather. That is for next time...

This time, however, to fix them, you need to change the levels (color) of the photo. Photoshop 6 and 7 both have an Autolevel, Autocolor and Autocontrast menu items. Try them (if you have photoshop.) If they work, then no further editing need be done, but if they do not work, you will have to edit the color levels manually.

Below is a shot I took with the WB way off and had to fix. It can be done. The bottom one is the final product. Good luck with future photos.

You might need to play around with the White Balance option..

Now the only way to fix it is probably just to play around in photoshop..

Hey guys,

That's exactly what happened. Thanks for the help! I'll definitely remember that the next time and I'll try Photoshop tonight. :)

Thank you!
