Don't get me wrong guys, aim not plugging here but I have the Canon PowerShot G2 and accidentaly deleted my files from the Compact Flash card and almost had a heart attack because they were from my recent trip to ong Kong. When searching around for a recovery tool I ran across several that could recover them for me but one stood out from the crowd and it has helped me ever since getting it.

Search and Recover from www.iolo.com. Not only does it have two different search tools but it allows you to clone the drive as an image and mount it just like any drive. So now, whenever I connect my CF card via the USB I make a clone and then detach my CF from the USB port. I can modify the files and even accidentally delete them if I want. its pretty awesome tool.

My excitement might be overkill but I was very happy to be able to save pictures I took from a place over 10,000 miles away. I found this tool useful and thought I would pass it on to the rest of the crowd.

I think you will like it. Does anyone in here use Corel Draw 9, PhotoPaint 9, Photoshop 7 or Photoimpact 8? I have these packages but basically only use PhotoPaint and Photoshop because they both support each others files.

It is hard to find just one application that does everything I want. Instead of buying tons of plugins for Photoshop, I can buy a software package that has several effects I can use for a similar price.

I did get a copy of PhotoPaint 9 Digital Camera Edition which is outstanding on on the effects it comes with.

I must admit though, I really try to take digital shots with settings that will take either no or little after processing for gamma, color range, or sharpness control in a graphics app. Sometimes it is hard to not have to correct something. I guess this is what seperates film from digital huh?

Can you guys give me some ideas on applications you use the most for your digital photography needs and why? It would help me quite a bit.
