Rather interesting and I like the b&w... That lady looks lonely with the big opening behind her. Well captured.

This was shot on B&W film. What appealed to me most about this scene were the gradient similarities within a harmonious composition. As this was shot on the go, I appreciated this most during post-processing - and complemented it by keeping the tonal differences in the foreground to a minimum, allowing the backdrop to be the contrast - which ended up in an overall flattened perspective. With some selective levels adjustments to the sky and some heavy-handed contrast and over-sharpening, I seemed to achieve the appearance of a "stage backdrop" effect. Maybe not to everyones taste but I found it a curious look....

I love the composition. I look at this and I feel relaxed. Now that I've read your second post, I see the backdrop effect you speak of. I didn't notice at first. :)
