Very nice shots, Crypto. The second bird is a Double-crested Comorant.
The second and third comorant shots looks like paintings...
Oh, nice job on the crow as well. Looks like it was an overcast day.

Great shot's Crypto. I think the mystery bird is a Double-Crested Cormorant. I especially like #4

RonnF is right about the 2nd and 3rd looking like paintings. You are in VA right? Aside from the crown, where are you seeing birds like that around here? Beautiful captures.

Lake Fairfax. I have noticed them around the lakes in Reston as well.

Geez, #2 is very nice, even with all the branches the bird still stands out and proud.

thanks, thats my favorite. I was going to edit the branches out, but something about them added to the image.

I like #2 and #4, the feather detail in #4 is so sharp and clear

great pictures ,
i personally have never seen a Cormorant perched on a tree before.. they have only ever been sitting on top off a platform or big flat logs etc. but in your pictures i clearly see them gripping around branches ,
amazing.

Really spectacular!
#2 is awesome. That's a classic pose of these guys. But I've never seen a capture like this! They have no oil on their feathers so they do this to dry after a dip in the water for fish.
Outstanding work. Thanks for sharing!

Excellent shots, especially the DC Cormorant. He is in breeding plumage, really showing off those double-crests. Very nice. The first Corm shot is one of the best I've seen.

thank you. I have been trying to get a good shot of a crow, but it's surprisingly hard.
