Hi

bought my IXUS 330 a year ago, and I have always used AiAf ON. Until a month ago, I would see the 3 green squares that compose the AF frame ONLY when I would press the shutter button.

Now, those squares are permanently displayed on the LCD screen in white (changing to green when focusing on a subject).

Because preveously I could see a clean LCD display before I took the shot, there has to be a way to remove that permanent frame.

Notice that it's not as simple as turning off AiAf function, as that will result in one (white) square permanently displayed on the LCD. Either way, the camera continues to work as good as before, but that frame is anoying.

Does anyone noticed this behaviour? any tips to remove that permanent AF frame?

Thanks in advance

I don't know, because I havn't seen the problem, but, IMHO it sounds like a software problem. It might be worth removing all power sources from the camera overnight to force a full reset. Why not try (with the camera off) removing both the battery and the small button cell that keeps the time (if there is one - I'm not sure about the Ixus). Replace the batteries in the morning a see if things have improved. You will have to re-set the time and all settings will have returned to default if the procedure has worked.

Hi,
I own a 330 Too. Made some 5000 pictures with it. There has always been the three frames (with AiAf ON) before pressing the photo button. Never seen a blank screen before. So what you see now seems to me the normal situation.
