lol.. yeah someone here just got one a few months back.. do a search for fisheye or better yet pelang.
its definetly circular, hence the name, fisheye. are you looking for a fisheye or an ultra wide lens... ?

Not a Peleng, but if you type peleng in the search bar, you'll find many examples from this lens. Images are round, but slightly cropped.

Memeber here - kaplanmultimedia - just got one and has posted some images. I think that's the spelling.
Looks like some pretty good stuff for a very reasonably priced lens.

Yes, I have recently used the 8mm "Mighty Peleng" with my Canon 10D and I am very pleased with the results. I used the supplied M42 mount on the "Mighty Peleng" and a M42 to Canon EF adapter.
See:

On the APS sized sensor digitals, part of the fisheye image is cropped.
As with all lenses with this wide a view, flare from the sun can be a grand problem. There is some flare in the image above.
I can highly recommend the "Mighty Peleng". I am not sure about how to gauge quality variations from lens to lens.
Please note that the "Mighty Peleng" is my very personal designation for this lens.
Also note there is some incompatibility with this lens on some cameras as the rear UV filter element protrudes a bit into the mirror box. In addition, for proper function the lens must be fitted with a rear filter. This is not a problem with my 10D, and I strongly suspect (but I am not positive) it would be fine on the other Canon DSLRs with the APS sensors (D30, D60, 10D, 20D, Drebels), but I would be very careful with other cameras.
There are several web sites devoted to this lens with loads of good info. Do a Google search and check them out.
Enjoy! Lon

Another fisheye to consider is the Sigma 8mm EX DG. I frankly think it produces better images than the Peleng 8mm and the design is more rugged. Here are some examples of photographs I have taken with it on my Canon 20D:

Its just hear-say but a guy on FM who owns both the Peleng 8mm and the Sigma 8mm says the are just about the same optically. The Sigma is exactly 2x more than the Peleng. The Peleng is full manual everything, and the Sigma is AF, but most people just set the Peleng around f/8 and the focusing isn't too hard.

It is interesting that the first reply was 3 years later.

This thread reminded me I have a Peleng in my cupboard... so I had to take it for a walk today. :)
I like how you can get right up close to or even inside stuff and use the lines like on this sculpture I came across on my walk. The first Peleng shot is cropped to lose the dark corners, in the second picture I left them in the frame.
First a "normal" wide-angle shot (1DII, 24mm) so you see the whole thing:

And now two shots (20D, 8mm) where I basically climbed inside the sculpture for more dramatic lines:
