Heron in central London!

Right well yesterday I went into london... had to look at some galleries etc, showing friend round and we thought it might be fun to go have lunch on one of the boats in hyde park. good thing we did... theres an island in the middle with lots of birds on it! so spotted this guy, pedalled as close as i could and snapped it.

if anyone lives around central london and wants to find some birds give it a go! you can get really close in a boat, the 70-200 was all i needed. not that i have anything else.

anyway, let me know how i could improve these (could have got one of it taking off but i was too busy pedalling away from another boat!)

#2 is a keeper for sure, and great job on the duck. I can't see much of a way to improve. Perhaps kicking up the contrast a little and definitely saturation for #2. That might make it pop a bit more.

#1 and 2 are great, i love his pose in the first one. #3 might be improved with a little more contrast between the bird and the sky, imo.

Very well done! I especially like #2. I don't see these guys in trees too often. Usually they are standing knee deep in the water.

I like all three of them. Love the perch in #2. The only thing i would try, is larger aperture to blur the background more, if possible. Nice work stupot.

thanks dimitri, yes my favourites the first one, i think its helped along by the blue sky...
