There is a small cave behind the falls that can barely be seen on the left...these three boys had either been or were heading to it. The water is decidedly cold.

Great shot. Unusual and unexpected "split-falls" composition works well here.
Playtime ! I notice that two guys have been smart enough to keep some shoes on.
It has been years since I messed about in Falls.
Wasn't there a cave like this in Beowulf?

Thanks Howie, yes shoes were definitely needed (by me they would have been), don't know about the Beowulf part).

Thank you ryuwulf, yes, I kept the boys somewhat dark deliberately.

I think this works really well. Just to be really picky, the water on the left has lost all detail. This doesn't take away from the overall impact of the photo however. Also there is a sort of a 'ghostly' red/orange mark on the left. Do you know what it is?
best regards
Martin.

Thanks Martin, it was very hard to hold detail in the water and the orange/red is someone in the cave about to re-emerge through the falls.

yes I guess the only way to have kept all water detail would have been to expose the water correct and then Photoshop it to selectively bring back detail (i.e. lighten) where you needed it?

Very nice capture, Peter! The crits have been made, so I'm just adding a pat on the back.
