Just got my A70 and started playing with it. I got the conversion lens adapter and a polarizing filter, screwed them on with great glee, looked through the viewfinder and found with dismay that it blocks 1/3 to 1/2 of the view! Do you guys just live with this, or is there another adapter that doesn't block the viewfinder?

Same with my A40 but it's no biggy. When zooming it focuses past it then I don't see the adapter. I only use the viewfinder when shooting a moving object anyway. Any other time I use the screen.

With A40 the adapter shadows also the flash!

Well with the tele, the image in the viewfinder would be 2.4 times to small anyway, couldn't really see what your taking the pic of as good as through the LCD.

And with the distortion between LCD to viewfinder, with that magnification, the center of the view image wouldn't be the same as the center of the actual image, with the zoom it makes it worse.

I'm not planning to get telephoto. I do like using the viewfinder to compose my shots rather than the screen. Looks like I'm out of luck.

When using macro mode, I've found that you're better off using the LCD to center the subject in the frame anyway. When you're that close using the viewfinder you tend to end up with off center/cut off subjects.
