Playing with the mirror today. I liked the light in the hall and the kids were unwilling at this point. I don't normally like to post photos of myself so be kind!

You are braver than me, LOL... and lot's thinner too:rolleyes:
I like that you are straight up and down and the mirror is cock-eyed. It makes the photo very interesting.

The last one would be great if the eyes were a little sharper. Was it a crop?

Wow. Thats incredible. It took me about 3 or 4 takes to figure out that you took that picture yourself. (Yes, THEN I read.) I'd never have believed that one could take a picture of onesself that comes out so good, if I didnt see your hand missing. All I can say is there is NO excuse for all those people on those pick-up websites that have terrible pictures. You not only had great lighting, perfect focus, but you composed a GREAT picture. It's VERY interesting.
Absolutely GREAT.
And as far as the model goes, she's a gorgeous model, and has a set of wonderfully hypnotic eyes.
Encore on both accounts!

Maureen...lol...thanks.
Smooth1...yes it is a crop. I used a flash and it reflected in the mirror, so I just cropped and edited the rest.
And Bruce... I might have to leave my husband if you tell me where you live! lol You are too kind. Thanks ;)

Aw, man. Don't be embarrassed. I tell my wife she's a hot mom all the time. It's the only way I can get away with spending money on camera gear. ;)

Great shots. Took me a while to figure out the setup too! Self portraits are probably the most difficult shots to take from a psycological point of view.
You are a beauty- with a teriffic personality to boot (from what we've seen here at the forum;)). Tell your husband he'd better take good care of you or your friends at POTN will come over and mess him around!

Oops- forgot to say I like the portraits. The last one is excellent- I'd like a little more sharpness in the eyes. Do some more!

Alan, I do have a few more, but not ready to post. Thanks for the comments. I will tell my husband to consider himself warned...thanks again. I'm flattered :o

You are very bad Dwight. Does she know you're trying to pawn her off?
First, let me wholeheartedly take responsibility for being BAD!!! I am bad. I like being bad. I rejoice in being bad, bad, bad!:evil::evil: The worse the better ... er, or something!
Second, no, she does not know. She dumped me ten years ago or so. She is the mother of my first born who is now 21. I have a wonderful second wife who is the mother of my second born, age 4. I am 60. But, she was very harsh in her demands in our divorce and now I'd like to turn a buck on giving her away. Actually, she remarried to a lawyer ... I think she was always secretly angry that I was not a lawyer ... or a doctor ... or an indian chief! Anyway, if you find Bruce and leave Bubba I'll see about shipping her off to Massachusetts ... oh, wait, no ... actually there is a chance that my wife will need to relocate us there if she gets into management after I retire ... nope, I retract my offer. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

I can verify that Dwight is sinfully bad and takes great delight in being that way.
I am sure he had many years of practice cuz he's soooooo good at it.

Great pic Kristine! I love the first shot with the cockeyed mirror. Everyone is right, you make a beautiful model and I'm guessing your husband and kids would be the first to agree.

I think I'd like Dwight if I met him...I can appreciate a twisted sense of humor.
Thanks Trent. I wasn't sure about the mirror tilt, but I think I like the effect as well. :)

Listen to you... "I don't normally post pics of myself so be kind" lol. Your modesty is refreshing considering how beautiful a woman you are. Ohhh.. and I'm in NH ;)
I usually hate mirror pics because they are always either out of focus, too harshly lit, flash reflections, and so on... but yours do not look like mirror pictures. Especially the second one.

LOL...thanks John. The light was perfect yesterday, which is why I felt compelled to do what I did. I only used the flash for one shot to see how it would effect shadows, etc. but I prefered w/o the flash.
NH, huh? :) :)

Yes, well as the established bad boy of this thread let me say I am not fond of female self deprecation ... Kristine, if something bad or critical needs to be said, like you have a long neck (which you don't, of course), please leave it for me to say! And if I hear John propositioning you again I am going to start posting pictures of his kids!

Dwight, my apologies. Self-deprecation is how we operate in my family...that along wtih extreme sarcasm. We can make fun of ourselves AND others.
You guys are good for my ego. Why didn't I do this sooner?

I am extremely pleased with my work this morning at whipping you laggards into shape on some critical issues. Kristine, I have a lot of experience with female low self esteem ... I think it is the white man's legacy ... but don't get me started on that! As for John, I am actually sending Bubba his home phone number and I expect someone's wife will shortly be getting a call ... I wish it was my ex-wife, of course! :-)

Well, now that we are done talking about the actual photos...
Dwight, low self esteem and self-deprecation are separate things. You can think very highly of yourself and still joke about yourself, no? I would think that w/o self-deprecation, self confident people would seem a bit arrogant.
But what do I know.. I'm just a female w/low self esteem. j/k

Kristine, I think self deprecation is "warding off" behavior ... attacking self in order to control or deflect attacks from others. Self confident people, such as myself, may or may not be arrogant, but humility does not require self denigration. Fortunately, being a BAD person, I am not required to be humble. As for joking about ones self ... hmmm, I think difficulties with that have to do with OCD and a rigid personality. You may be saddened to know that I have a degree in psychology and a LOT of opinions.

LOL.. I'm from greenfield, massachusetts. A bit north of amherst. My ex gf just moved out of my apartment after a year of being seperated, so I've got plenty of room.
So Umm.... when you come, what lenses are you coming with? :P

Bruce, I'm flattered. Sadly, I have a house full of people who might actually miss me if I pick up and leave...although Greenfield is quite nice (bit of a haul from where I am)! Actually, I better rephrase and say, "I know they will miss me" in case Dwight is looking...
Jon, Thank you very much. :)

Mike, thanks a mil. Flattery will get you everywhere ;) Being the 'photographer' in the family, I am not often in front of the lens. The sporadic photos of myself in the photo albums inevitably have the kids saying, "mommy, your hair looks different" every few minutes! I prefer taking the photos. :)

I can relate to being the photographer in the family... and at the party... etc. I prefer taking the photos too... but... in your case... the world (those of us on the opposite end of POTN from you) is happy when you make your way to the front of the lens :)
