Thinking of getting this for my wife.
BUT, I'd like to see an image straight from the camera, full sized
one at lowest iso and one at highest iso to see how the noise
looks on it, just had the Fuji E900 and was not too thrilled about
the image quality on that.

Please email to chiseledge@yahoo.com

thanks!

The reviews here (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canonsd550/)are usually pretty comprehensive... it may have what you're looking for.

Thanks Ross, I've read several reviews, on this as well as that Fuji E900 and while
that had great reviews, when I got to view the images, wasn't impressed so what I
was looking for are a couple images straight from the camera of a regular guy or gal
that I could look at on my computer. What would be best is if I could take a card with
me to a Ritz store or some place and shoot and bring back to review.

Ross, I checked that review out, you're right, I stand corrected, that is pretty thorough.
Thanks again, it looks like a nice camera and the images look worth while!

Glad it was helpful. I can't recall the web site -- maybe someone else can provide it -- but there's at least one place on the web that organizes photos by camera model. If you can find that, it should have lots of images from the 550. Sorry I don't know it offhand.

YES! Thanks, ERpics, that's the place. I should have remembered that, but was drawing a blank. Welcome to the forum, and thanks for the contribution.

Gary, you still looking for representative pictures from the 550?

Thanks to the both of you, Ross, it's coincindental that today I ordered a Canon A620
I looked things over a bit more and the larger camera body is more in line with what
my wife is using now, actually the A620 will be a lot smaller, so I didn't really need to
get as slim a model as the SD ones, and the fact that the A620 has an articulated view
finder made it an even easier decision, turned in, it will protect the surface better.

Getting it from BuyDig.com, shipped out today, hopefully it will be here by the Friday
but time will tell ! From the reviews I've read, a lot of folks seemed to like that so
it may well serve me when I travel and can't carry all that I'd like to bring.
Again, appreciate your help!

edited to add:

I did a hand held closeup of some apples setting on a tray
here is a reduced size, no post processing at all, colour is great right out
of the camera in the low lit kitchen, I'm liking this one a bit, it may end
up on a few trips with me ;)
