Good teleconverter

Hi, i'm looking for a good but cheap 1.4/1.5 teleconverter for my 70-300 IS USM (on a 20D body). I gather Canon ones won't work so it's the Kenko or Tamron - which should I get.

Can anyone also suggest a fisheye or wide angle for the 20D also - I have a 17-40L, but want to go much wider (not forgetting the 1.6 body). I don't want a zoom or anything as expensive as a 10-22.
