Finally found one in my garden and he allowed me to have some fun with him.

In the first one I have used my fingers to create a gobo that blocks the sunlight from all but his head.

And in this one he was blowing bubbles! Difficult to see, but definitely what he was doing. He'd pearl one out and then suck it back in. Do you think perhaps they do this to cool off? It's awefully hot out there today.

Now, even Athena capture these lovely crab spider and I haven't seen one yet :(

Great captures, you have there, Athena ;) The 2nd one is my favorite. Love their eyes, don't you? That is my mission to capture one this summer :)

Lovely shots Athena, have yet to see one of these pale crab spiders here.
Interesting re the bubble blowing. Having a similar discussion re flies doing it. I suggested at one stage that maybe the fly let the drop warm up and then sucked it back in again as a fast way of getting warm but someone else explained that it was far more likely to cool down due to evaporative losses so maybe you are right :) Advanced thermoregulation.

Hey, wadda mean even Athena? ;) hehehe J/K Thank you for the compliment.

You'll find one - they LOVE flowers. I see them on the flowers at my Dad's house all the time (he's in the states).

.

I've only ever seen them in flowers. I found this one on one of our plumeria trees. He had a real desire to be upside down most of the time. I wonder why...

Great captures Athena, very well done! I like #2, but #1 could have been better if it'd been framed better :( Looks like he really wanted to give you a big hug in #1! Nice 'n' sharp!

Welcome to the crab spiders' world ..
Extremely excellent first shot Athena, the second needs some sharpness, but great color.

I agree - I did sharpen it, but didn't want to go overboard. I think the actual problem is that I was torn between focusing on his eyes or the bubble. If I were Brian I could have done both and stacked them! :)
