I like the second and the last one. It looks like the wasp is cutting the leaf ?!?

Thanks sw2001 :)
Not sure about the wasp- you may be right but I thought it was more like an exhausted wasp crash landing- it certainlt wasn't doing anything whilst I took a few shots- more like holding on with it's mouth for grim death :)

Thanks Dave :)
I have a feeling from the way that hover was behaving and it's colouring that it was newly emerged- seemed much lighter in colour than normal, so it might just be a bit of pupal skin that didn't detach properly.

Thanks BE :)
Was lucky with the hover, as I said above I think it was newly emerged so it wasn't going anywhere for a while. The last shot was a bit of a suprise- I was certain it was a wasp only to be told it was actually a bee :)

Very nice shots Brian. That beetle seems to be giving you "the eye". :)

Thanks Gordon :0
I liked the last one as well, I suspect because I've never seen one of them before- I was convinced it was a wasp but turns out it's a bee.
