If anyone is using it can they let me know if they're happy. Or can you add your sites URL.

Thanks in advance

I use it :) http://photo.bernt-inge.com/gallery/main.php

It is easy to use and has a remote upload tool :) And pretty easy to install also :)

Very nice, good pics.

Is it easy to add your own gif or jpg site banner?

Thanks :D
You just replace the one that is standard with your own, I downloaded the standard one and modified it in photoshop ;) easy as 1-2-3 :)

/me screams and pulls out hair.

i had gallery 2.0.4 on my site. i Tried upgrading to 2.1 and i lost everything. then i tried reinstalling 2.0.4 and that didnt work. now i'm stuck with 2.0.1 ( i think its that one) because my hosting company offers to install it for free.

Before you want to install Gallery2 you must be familiar with the way a database works. you must set yours up properly. I have about 2% knowledge of how they work and I spent about 4 hours trying to figure mine out before i was successful at getting Gallery to work.

I don't like it - I know its very customisable, but it requires too much work to get to a point where its easy to use and not too complicated.

I use simpleviewer (flash gallery) and postcard viewer (a different approach to flash gallery) with the URL in my sig.

Only thing you need to know is your sql database name and password. This is the same on every gallery I've tried. And it is very easy to install, even friends of mine without computer knowledge has done it.

I was using gallery2, then I moved to coppermine, and now finally moved to smugmug. Coppermine is really great but if you want a professional looking photogallery, smugmug is the way to go. The wealth of options it offers is simply amazing.

i've been using gallery 1.x for years now. always been happy (http://photo.demonhood.com/) with it. version 1 doesn't require a database, btw.
i'm going to move over to 2.1 once i finish a customized theme (there are several fancy themes for gallery 2.x).
if you go with gallery, i've got a few custom frames that you can use. they're linked here (http://www.demonhood.com/addon/). instructions on how to install them is contained in the archive. enjoy.

smugmug is the way to go.
Far from the same as a personal gallery on your own site though.

Also not acceptable for those who photograph adult images, artistic nudes and things of that nature.
