EOS 10D Flash

I've just purchased a 10d. Can anyone tell me a good compatible flash?

the 550ex (by cannon) is the best flash... that is what I have.

It is a good flash... good for practically everythign except close up work... but even then you can bounce it... and it would be decent... it is mailny used for photojournalism but it is also great for studio... the head tilts and swivels... the head tilts down to -7 degrees so it can kind of do macro but the angle isnt great... but I dont know what you photograph... haha but this flash will last you and is good.

I have to say the 550, I went cheap and purchased the 420 and its a great flash but the 550 lets you tweak alot more. If you're a program shooter go with the 420 but if you're going to be creative and try to go serious then the 550 is the way to go.

What would one expect to pay for a 550 EX?
