Has anyone had any experience with intergrating EE with Joomla and VirtuMart?

I am trying to sell some of my photos and really like EE. However I would like to use VirtuMart for the shopping cart.

Please let me know your experience in using a shopping cart, Joomla with EE.

Thanks!

Interesting - I use all three of those... But haven't toyed with any integration yet.

Most likely you won't be able to as EE and VirtuMart use totally different databases - though there are commerce options within EE. You might try Gallery from http://gallery.menalto.org

There are items to intergrate gallery with joomla, however I am not finding anything for virtumart.

I could use, proably will, gallery but like EE better. I will take what I can get though.
Any ideas on virtuemart with gallery??

I'd love to see this integration happen, too. Any time any component gets rigged to work with Joomla, I'm happy -- it's an excellent product. The first time I wrapped EE into Joomla, it worked without a hitch, although I didn't test any of the commerce functions.

But I've almost given up on ever seeing EE 2.0, so I went with Gallery 2.1. I'm not in love with it, but I needed to meet a deadline and it's working well enough for now to keep it.

What have you tried for implementation and configuration, jaa1180?

So far? Nothing. I am still reading. I am trying to understand the software first.
I do have VirtueMart installed.... however looking for a mambot to add into the EE or Gallery content.

Hi,

I can't see anyone creating an EE module for Joomla, so the options as I see it are:

1. Use the wrapper function in Joomla and enable the ecommerce within EE.
2. Use another gallery script that has ported to Joomla that supports ecommerce.
3. Use a shopping cart that has ported to EE and modify it.

I have a friend that uses a modified osCommerce to display and sell his images, his site is at: www.hughsgallery.co.uk. This is not a plug, it may give those that require them some ideas regarding Virtulmart.
As far as porting EE to Joomla, perhaps the request would be better placed in the Joomla/Mambo forums, someone there may have the skills to do it.

Just my thoughts.
