I will be visiting Spain, Portugal and England for five weeks. I am going to bring along my Rebel XT and kit lens. I also am trying to decide whether or not to bring my 70-200 F4 lens and maybe the 1.4 TC. Some of the areas are know for there high theft rate. Also, I would have to carry the lens quite abit.
I would appreciate hearing your pros and cons on taking the extra lens or leaving it at home!
Thank you, Margie

I should have mentioned that I will be taking a tripod and an extra digicam, too.

If it doesn't put you overweight with your luggage, I would bring the 70-200mm. In my experience, if you don't bring something, you'll want it.

When I travel I take my 12-24 and maybe my 28-75. I've never needed my 70-200.

well, from Portugal all i can tell you is that the highest crime rates are Lisbon downtown, but if you're not travelling alone, then you shoud'nt have worries about that.

I agree with Tim - you dont normally need a telezoom for traveling. Maybe your 100mm could be good for some city candids.
