s2 change battery

Hi frnds,
im new to photography. I bought a new s2 is camera few days back. I put very new 4 AA batteries and took 5 or 6 snaps. After that when i turn on. It shows change battery in shoot mode. While i play the movies and pics [recorded earlier] it works fine. But when i change the mode to shoot, it shows change battery!!
is this some prob with the camera??

Were those rechargeable batteries?

I've read the S2 sometimes have a "battery bug", even with new/fully charged batteries. It's been discussed in multiple websites so far, it seems a "common" trouble. Mine worked fine in this matter so far though - *knocks on wood*.

Turning the camera off and on back again can help, so is cleaning the battery poles and contacts with a pencil eraser.

try other set of batteries if it will have the same results

you need 2500 mah nimh batteries and backups, these camera eat regular batteries swiftly...:lol:

I had that problem when I was out in the cold with my camera. But I have not had consistancy with the problem to say that was it. Still, the camera continued to take pictures so I have not worried about it.
