Could someone give me some guidance on the exposure settings for BSB in mondello next month, I'll be bringing a canon 1dmII, canon 200mm f2.8, canon 300mm f4, canon 1.4, canon 24-70mm f2.8. I know it all depends on the weather and that, but as a guidance for panning shots whats would be considered a good starting point and what depth of field. I have never shot super bikes before so any help would be great. Would anyone know good vantage points at this venue. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know Mondello at all, but i've got a gallery online of my first attempt at the BSB from a very grey test day at Snetterton...

Hope that helps :)

Thanks GSH, some great shots, I see alot of the shots are around f7, that looks like a good starting point for good dof, maybe I'll just set to f7 and in av mode and fire away...hopefully the weather will be a bite better than you had:D .

No, don't use Av mode. You use Tv mode for this type of work otherwise you will end up with high sutter speeds 'freezing' the action which looks horrible.
Pan at 1/250 until you get confidence to go slower, down to say 1/160. Use the ISO to control the DOF (aperture) if necessary.
