Hi,
The Sept 2 2003 issue of PC Magazine reviews several (21) small compact digital cameras. The Editor's Choice went to two:
Photo Enthusiast: Pentax Optio 550
Point and Shoot: Kodak EasyShar DX 6340
However, this is based on several factors and the Pentax having a 5X zoom helped it win. When it came to image quality, only the CANON S400 and the Minolta Dimage F300 scored a 9, whereas the Pentax, only a 6. (This was without flash; the S400 only got a 6 with flash; they said the picture was overexposed. They did not say *how many* pictures they took with each camera for the judges to decide. Gee, there are times when any digital camera can overexpose flash; maybe they should have done more flash work with the S400. Also I'm puzzled as to why the G3 was not included...it would have got a 9 both with and without flash!
This issue is a must-read for digital camera enthusiasts. They discussed upcoming Prosumer and Pro cameras. However, I wonder how come they had no idea about the soon to be released Rebel Digital?
