Ixus 400

I recently bought an ixus 400 and halfway through my holiday, the lens came out when the camera was turned on and stayed out. The camera, now when turned on makes a whirring noise when turned on for 10 seconds, the opening screen comes on disappears and then displays an error code E18 on a blank screen. It then proceeds to turn itself off. Can anyone help?

Yes, I had the error 18 problem with the same camera and I was told to just take it back and get another one - that I couldn't fix that myself. Joe

Woah, thanks for the warning. I'll be extra careful now with my IXUS 400. Took me a while to get this baby.
