Don't know if any of you have seen this or not, but here is a link to check out the new Canon Digital Rebel camera. Step down from the 10D but alot less expensive.

I am new to digital photography, and am curious how the new 300D would compare to a D60. I take racetrack winner's circle photos, and have used a Minolta XGM for years. I saw the term "happy snappy" camera used on this forum, and do not really think I want one of those. I really don't know all the reasons why, but I feel a digital SLR camera is the way to go. Any advice?

I have never used a D60 or a 300D, so I cannot make the comparison.
However from what I know about canon digital from using my 10D and the specs of the 300D I would say it is a very capable camera and would suit your DSLR needs well. The fact it comes with an 18-55 lens is just a pure bonus!
Get down to your local photo store and have a look at one, see if you like the feel of it.

Thank you. I originally wanted a D30, but price difference on ebay is not that much to go to a D60.

Also, I have received not one, but two scams trying to get me to go off ebay and get the camera cheaper after I bid on a D30 (got outbid pretty quickly). I read about the scammers wanting one to send money via Western Union on this board, and the very next day, I got the scam email, so I was able to recognize it easily. Think that since I really don't know what questions to ask that the 300D is better for me anyway. I actually enjoyed all the manual settings on my Minolta though.
