Got 150x 2G SD memory card for my brand new SD550. When taking movies, an annoying periodic high pitch noise (sounds like a croaking toad) gets injected into the playback audio approx. every second.

SD550 manual states specific support only for upto 1G SD memory, but I've seen posting where people had used 2G with no issue. Is there any known issue on SD550 working with high speed >1G SD memory card? Perhaps there are good reasons why canon specifically limit support to 1G .

I'm using an A-Data 4GB card (I forget - 130x, 150x, something reasonable quick) with my SD500 and I don't have any problems with audio (or otherwise for that matter).

I also tried the same 2G SD Card at Fry's with another SD550 - no problem there.

With these two data points, I guess SD550 is OK w/ higher capacity SD card in-spite of referencing only 1G in manual.

I have a defective SD550 - I will go ahead & replace it with another SD550 instead of return it for a different camera.

Thanks for the info.
