It'll shoot 400 FPS, and everything the surrent 1 series does. It'll cost $1.00
All kidding aside, I mounted a 580EX on my old AE1 Program and to my surprise, it worked....

having some fun with the old fslr, I didn't know a 580ex would work on it.

My friend in Norway mounted a 10 year old BRAUN flash on Canon 350d which he used with Nikon film camera in school days. and surprisingly... it worked without any problem.

Strictly in manual mode in both cases though, I expect. BTW to wannasmax - be careful on your titles. This one nearly got swept into Rumours unread.

All it needs is that big center pin. I did the reverse - used an old Vivitar 5600 flash on the D30. It was manual only. I tried to find the trigger voltage on it and couldn't, and I noticed strange artifacts in the handful of test shots I took... Not wanting to risk it any further I got a 580EX. Best decision yet. :D

Does your flash really have a green beer bottle mounted to the top of it?

Here's a link for flash trigger voltages. Be careful putting an old flash on a dSLR.

Yeah, but the Vivitar 2600 isn't listed. ;)

Yeah, but the Vivitar 2600 isn't listed. ;)So shove a voltmeter between the two flash shoe contacts.

Hmm, good point. I didn't want to really bother investigating it much since it would be totally manual no matter what. I chose to expend the energy in ordering a 580EX instead. :)
