I took them both this morning at the same location but they sure look very different from one another. These are my first two captures of RWB's that I thought came out okay.

Very nice shots on both. Excellent exposures - that's not always easy with the RWBs.

Nice shots, Paul. I have a very difficult time getting the exposure right for these guys. You did it very well.

Very good, particularly #2. Nice over-the-shoulder pose, and an awesome perch!

I too prefer the first shot...very nicely exposed, colors are great and I appreciate a profile shot. The second is also nice although I find the beak and eye a little soft on my monitor.

Very nice shots Paul, I find the red-wings just don't like me and take off or position themselves between the sun and me.

Thanks all..........Scottes they are so skittish and I usually end up with the red being overexposed.

Yep, that happens to me a lot too. I don't mind that so much as when the yellow patch blows out since that tends to look white when it's overexposed. At least the red patch still looks red when it gets over-exposed.
In my opinion it's a 12-stop bird. We do the best we can do.
