Looking for a program that will allow me to work with my RAW photos. What is the best program out there??

I'm very comfortable with Photoshop CS but I'm looking for something new.

Thanks

You might try Rawshooter Essentials (www.pixmantec.com (http://www.pixmantec.com)), it's free and a lot of people use it. I assume you already use Adobe Camera Raw and DPP. Of course there's also Bibble and Capture One.

RawShooter Premium is all you're likely to need. There is a free version which is good but lacks some key tools (crop and curves being most important to me). Their RAW update for the 30D files is due soon and meantime I use DPP which is free with your camera and export to CS as a TIFF.

ThanksWhich camera do you use? There is a Adobe Camera Raw plugin for Photoshop CS. I use that to convert my raw. If you use 350D or newer model, then you will need the CS2 plus the ACR plugin.

Rawshooter Essential is another good program, as mentioned. Or Canon's Digital Photo Professional that comes with the camera.

Give DPP a try.
If you're on a Mac, and want the newest, try Lightroom ;)

I have been experimenting with rawshooter premium, bibble lite and capture 1 LE. Last night I eliminted capture 1 LE from the mix as I really do not like the work flow.

That leaves me with RSP and Bibble Lite. I am leaning towards Bibble as it offers more features which I can grow into. I will also keep rawshooter essentials (the free version).

I have been posting quite a bit about this. Give all the converters a try. They all offer at least a 15 day free trial period.

From one newb to another...Good Luck!!!

There really is no "best" but ultimately you will settle on the one that fits your own needs better. I personally use Bibble Pro & prefer it over all the other options I tried.

Some others not mentioned: Capture One, BreezeBrowser, SilkyPix, on Mac Aperture

OP: Camera model will help determine what options you have.
