I guess it doesn't work because pbase doesn't allow linking of files. When you open the file (extension is jpg)only picture should show in the browser, but a whole page with navigation opens. And the embedding of a page doesn't work...
what does work is :

this is the link of the picture in the pbase generated page copied ... :) which is http://mishoga.image.pbase.com/u32/keving3/upload/20675009.butterfly8_6.jpg

Nice shot,
I am especially jealous because I just tried a few butterfly shots and made a right mess of it!
You coul crop in a bit tighter though, there is quite a lot of background and it doesn't really convey anything about the environment the butterfly lives in so why not lose it?
Make that nice sharp butterfly big in the frame
(just leave it a little of centre to give a bit of a dynamic to the composition)
Also the grass that it is on is a bit bright so I would try to darken it down a bit.

Thanks for the help Ikinaa. I am a paying PBase user, I just pay last night. And they do support links to my images. But for some reason, it is not working for me.
Mark-
Thanks for the comments. I will definitely take your advice and repost the image with the changes. I just wish I could get this image embedding stuff working.

Nice colors. The blue green grass in the background compliments the butterfly nicely.
I would crop it a little tighter. Also, the blade of grass the butterfly is resting on is overexposed. It looks like a bright white stripe cutting through the picture. This is distracting expecially when viewing the image from a distance.

That's http://www.pbase.com/image/20675009.jpg with the IMG tags like you tried.
Don't worry, it took me a couple days to figure it out too. :)
Oh yea, pretty good shot, sharp butterfly. The leaves/branches that it is sitting on are too bright and blown out.

It seems that in the one post you made where you can actually see the link and tags there is a space right after [img]. That is likely why it did not work.
As far as the image goes, Nice. Good focus but the centering composision doesn't really work for me. The colour may look nicer if you saturated the reds slightly.

Another image - And I think I have the embedding stuff figured out.
One question : Why do I keep getting errors saying that I do not have permission to post. I am logged on and a registered member yet this has been happening to me off and on all day today. Any ideas? Thanks

I agree that the original shot needs a little cropping but may have overdone it for my tastes in your revised image. Very nice sharpness of the butterfly.
I'm curious about what type of butterfly this is and where the picture was taken. In my area (PA) have Monarch's and Viceroy's which look similar but yours seems to be a more tropical species.

Glad to see that you have the imbedding issue figured out. The butterfly seems to be skewed too much to the blue. Try altering the white balance. At first I though that it was just my monitor, but the trail picute is fine.
Speaking of the trail picture, where is it. It looks fantastic.

Hey guys...Thanks for the comments. I wil try messing with the white balance and see what it looks like.
I have no idea what kind of butterfly it is. I was in a local park here in East Central Florida. The same park that the winding walkway was photographed in.
Thanks again for the comments.

Here is something I was playing around with in Elements. I just got the software so I'm still learning.
