I've had my first dslr (a 350d) for about a month. A few of my first attempts at photographing my other hobby can be seen HERE (http://www.pbase.com/teme/coffee).
For me, some of the shots were a real challenge because of low available light. For example the image with the coffee beans cooling down and rotating in the roaster (pic 4) was tough. It was shot handheld at ISO800, 1/40s, f1.6 with the 50mm prime. In my opinion there's too little dof and it is not as sharp as I'd like...
With regards to the latte art picture, I was pretty happy with the coffee but rushed the picture and again it is not as sharp as I would have liked.
I'm sure there are faults with the other photos as well so as a noob any comments / feedback would be warmly welcomed...
Best regards,
Teme
