Continueing the series of Edinburgh architecture shots. Here is another for you to critique and enjoy, or not as the case may be?
Thanks
Martin.

I like the first one much better. Some things that struck me in this one: It's not level (although rotating the photo will fix that); Almost the full bottom left quarter of the photo seems to have an "empty" space" which is distracting to me; The shapes do not seem to be as evenly distributed and sized in this one.

I can see what you are trying to accomplish with this photo. It is close to being really good. However, I think there are a few two many dark green roof tops forming a line down the center of the photo. Maybe if you somehow got that line of roof tops to conform to the rule of thirds it would work for the photo rather than against it.
Also, the focus seems a little off. Maybe a little sharpening with photoshop would bring out some details. I want to be able to see individual bricks and shingles.
Also, there is an overexposed area on one of the homes in the upper left corner.
I am being very picky. This is a nice photo. It could be great with a few changes.

For me there is no focal point. The roofs all seem equally 'important' and there are a lot of them. Its not regular enough to form a pattern so I don't really see a structure.
Could you simplify it? crop it much tighter somewhere or use a strong 'posterise' filter or suchlike to remove a lot of detail and make it much more impressionistic?
