Having just purchased an s230 elph yesterday I'm still in the early stages of figuring out the camera. But I have found something that concerns me.
When I play back (on the camera) movie clips that I shot, they have no sound. Could this be a malfunction? Or maybe is it that you can only hear sound when you play it back on a computer?

I haven't been able to upload any clips or pics to my computer yet because I haven't been able to get the software to work. It keeps giving me the message "FAILED TO READ RESOURCE."
Thanks a bunch.

Hi Pixie.

I presume the s230 is much the same as my s200, in which case you will find that it does not have any built-in speaker to hear the sound during playback.

What you can do for the time being (until you fix the software problems) is use the supplied cable to connect the camera output to the AV input of your TV. This way, you can view the video clip with sound, as well as see all your still shots.

Have fun!

Hi Danny,
Thanks. I was hoping that it was only a lack of a speaker that was the cause. I didn't even think of hooking it up to the t.v. I'll try that. Thanks again.
