I have had my 10D for around 6 weeks now and have taken around 7 thousand photos (I have been doing model phootgraphs on the weekend for a mate of mine).
The other day, half way through a shoot the camera crashed!!! Just said "error" in the top LCD display, couldnt even turn it on and off. I finally pulled the battery out of it to fix it.
Has anyone else had this problem? Im just putting it down to software.
Cheers

I've never had that problem. I'm at "only" 2000 shots in 2 months, though. As these camera's become more advanced, I'm guessing that crashes will unfortunately become more common. Pulling the battery for a minute is a good way to "hard boot" the computer... ooops, I mean Camera.
Did you lose any photos? Is your card OK?
After uploading the photos to your computer, I'd recommend reformatting the card just to be safe.

Actually I didnt lose a single photo and the card was fine. I will reformat it anyways. I have done all sorts of tests to try and see how the card loses data and so far I have not been able to lose a single photo!!!
Not bad.. (famous lats words!)

I had the "Mirror Lock" lock and stay, it would not drop after the exposure, but I was being kind of trigger happy with the remote also, maybe I was going to quick. Pulled the batteries and let is sit for a minute turned it back on and the mirror dropped and everything was fine.

7,000 photos? Maybe it was just exhausted. ;)
