I just got a G-2 and love it. I was wondering how you would bring a RAW file into PhotoShop. Do you have to first save it as a TIFF file in ZoomBrowser and then import into PhotoShop or is there anyway to bring the RAW file directly into PhotoShop.

It is possible to use the twain driver and load the data from your PC card or G2 directly into Photoshop. I personally prefer to keep a copy of all the RAW files on my hard drive as originals, then use a conversion program to convert them to TIF files. These I edit, print, save as needed, etc. I don't have to worry about the integrity of any TIF file because I keep the RAW source.
I keep my originals in files like 100CANON, 101CANON, etc with 100 pictues in each subdirectory. Every time a few subdirectories get filled, I burn them to a compact disk in case my HD takes a dive.
Welcome aboard. There are lots of nice people here so don't hesitate to ask questions.

btw, I am only 3 months ahead of you in using the G2. After playing with it for a while it will seem second nature.

Bringing RAW files straight into PS is not only possible, I find it's the easiest way to go (at least for me) when I want to work with the files immediately. (I use BreezeBrowser for archiving, etc. since it preserves EXIF info and the TWAIN method doesn't seem to).
In order to get PS to recognize the G2 TWAIN driver, you have to connect the camera itself to the computer through the USB cable. You only have to do this the very first time... and you don't actually have to download any pictures from the G2... just connect it. PS itself doesn't even have to be running.
Windows will do its thing, and from then on, you will find a Canon option available in PS (File>Import>Canon). You will then have to choose a directory (I use a CF card reader, or I point to the directory on my PC where I've transferred the RAW files). The thumbnails should pop up and you can then either convert the whole directory or just the pictures you choose.
Hope this helps... it's the first step that had me stumped initially.
