When canon announced the 300D affordable SLR camera at $1000 I was about to rush out and pre order one here in the UK, until I saw some sites offering this “affordable SLR” at £900! The exchange rate doesn’t seem quite right.
Is it my maths or good old RIP OFF BRITAIN again.?

That's on a par with the 10D. About $1500, but £1250 over here!

It's the case all over Europe. Part is the sales tax, obviously. Living in a tax free haven (LOL) I don't have that problem, but when I bought my D60 I stopped in Singapore. Trip paid for with the difference of the camera.
So get yourself a nice holiday, buy a cam, shoot tons of pics.
