Very cool photo. You certainly grabbed an awsome shot with the clouds. Only thing is is dark on the bottom. Can be corrected.

I thought the contrast was kinda cool. The clouds were patchy and dictated which areas were well lit and which were very dark.
BTW: this was taken from a moving bus. :)

Very nice shot. I like the like how most of the picture seems to be in soft focus and the mountain is sharp.
I also like how the photo fades to black at the bottom, but you may want to crop away part of the black. This would help the photo comply with the rule of thirds, and it would crop out the road in the bottom right corner. The line on the edge of the road is a little distracting and takes away some of the natural feel. You also might want to clone tool out the powerlines.

One word: electric towers! (OK maybe that's two words :))
but there isn't much you can do about that from a moving bus....

This is lovely, although I too would try and clone out the power-lines, they really detract from the natural beauty of the shot. Can I ask where this was taken, it looks familiar, is it in Tasmania??
Suzie.

The road (or whatever it is) in the lower right hand corner is distracting to me, but as someone else said, it's hard to get exact cropping from a moving bus.

Suzie... it can´t be Tasmania since Ronin took the photo in AUSTRIA which is located in central Europe. You know Austria (with it´s capitol city Vienna and other famos citys such as Salzburg (Mozart), Innsbruck (olympic wintergames 1964 and 1976) :)
Ronin.... just wondering myself. Where in Austria did you take this nice photo at? Was it in Tyrol?
By the way.... in my opinion you may want to set the photo to horizon level (turn a bit counter clockwise) so that the electrcity poles stand vertical.

I like it a lot... those clouds are great.

I too like the dark shadow casted by the cloud cover. I just think it is in excess. I like the road also as it winds along the rolling countryside and the small shack that is sitting in the middle of nowhere.
I think this is an excellent shot that really only needs a couple small adjustments.
I hope you don't mind Ronin that I took the liberty of doing a little adjusting. I'll remove it right away if you like.
I adjusted the gamma on the lower part of the image and boosted the colour in all areas of the photo.

Hmmm...not bad...but y'think it's a little over saturated and unnatural?
I'll make some adjustments and post it again.
And...think I should remove the power lines? I can do that quite easily.
I'll show you guys a pic from Hitler's Eagle's Nest soon where I removed something bigger. lol

Heheh...wouldn't that be a nice thing to have? An engine on/off switch.
Bus driver: "****, sorry folks...the engine cut out for some reason."
Me: "Muahahahahahh!"
I don't think the shot would be the same if I just took it standing still though.

OK, so now I feel like a complete idiot. I just saw Australia when I read the title and it DOES look like Mount Roland in Tasmania. I'm off to sulk now.

suzie, don't feel bad,
sometimes the responses are excessive
sometimes the tone they were intended in does not come through on text.
I'll buy you a coffee and we'll smile over it :)

No, no Suzie... you don´t have to feel like a complete idiot.
I meant it only as a friendly info. :)
Having lived in Canada and the US for several years, i experiensed it very often that people get mixed up by misktake when talking about Austria. Many of them thought i was talking about Australia.
So cheer up again. Everything is ok :)
Sorry for my bad english. It is not my native language. I´m from AUSTRIA :D
Kind Regards

Hi Ed, thanks for the post, I feel a bit better now. :eyes
I am from Australia so I guess I get excited when I see posts from (what I think is) home and maybe don't read things properly!
Suzie.

Hi Suzie,
good to know that you feel better now :)
Yes that´s what i thought (you being from Australia) as you mentioned Tasmania in a recent post.
I have´nt been to Australia yet. The furthest i came to the east was Thailand and Singapore, to the west Canada, United States and Mexico. But i like travelling and some day i am going to visit Australia. Heard and read a lot of your beautiful country!
Last weekend my wife and i had friends of ours at our house. They lived in Melbourne for many years.
Best Regards
Ed
